Thursday 27 April from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
We’re offering a free Public Speaking Workshop to any young people 16-24 years old who live, work or play in the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
3 in 4 people have a fear of public speaking, yet communication skills is the #1 desired skill for employers. For young people who want to start their own businesses, become entrepreneurs or be able to better advocate for what they believe in, public speaking is key to their success. The workshop will cover:
Overcoming the fear of public speaking. Our Facilitators are TEDx speakers, and use relevant and practical ways to inform public speaking, and managing the fear & anxiety that comes with it
Power of Body Language. 55% of effective communication is your body language. Our facilitators create highly engaging strategies and models that students can follow to be confident in the way they speak.
Voice. 38% of effective communication is how we use our voice, tone, pace and pitch. We create a safe environment for young to understand the power of their voice, and how to speak with conviction
Presentation. Young people will present their ideas in an investment pitch format.
Spots are limited, registrations are essential.
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible training sessions. If you have any access or communication needs, contact Alex Blair, Senior Social Programs Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 02 9246 7810.
