Thursday 18 November 2021 from 6pm to 8pm
In this online writing workshop with Felicity Castagna, participants will consider the techniques used by writers to convey ‘a sense of place’, as well as looking at the role it plays in creative writing.
This course will provide creative strategies such as:
viewing place as a character
uncovering the meaning and personal identity of place
discovering the meaning of home
uncovering a place’s relationship to the natural world
Participants will learn how to write with ‘telling details’ as opposed to too much detail, how to offer an unexpected way into a place and some strategies for weaving a sense of place into the narrative.
