This November, one of Seymour Centre's most popular Arts Education partners, Treehouse Theatre, returns with their new show, Why Us?

Why Us? is a powerful performance that allows young refugees to share real-life stories as they learn to call Australia their new home.

The production delves into the devastating impact of war, tearing lives apart in sudden bursts of violence, leaving families displaced and searching for a place to call home. They have a new name now – refugee – and a new life to construct.

Through spoken word, lights, sound and movement, the young survivors share their stories. Witness the transformative power of theatre as Why Us? paints a vivid picture of the teenage refugee experience.

“It opened my eyes to the experience of refugees."
