Wayside Chapel Christmas Day Street Party

Wayside Chapel invites people in the community who don’t have a seat at a table this Christmas to join in one of the city’s biggest and most festive events in a celebration like no other. This year’s annual Christmas Day Street Party is even more significant as the iconic Wayside marks its 60th anniversary of building community and connection for Sydney’s most marginalised and isolated.  

What began as a small Christmas BBQ in a lane around 50 years ago, has grown into one of Sydney’s most iconic Christmas street parties hosting up to 800 or more guests throughout the day and serving up a free three-course feast and much more. There is a DJ, fake tattoo and photo booths, local celebrities dropping by, Santa visit and more.
