UNAA(NSW) One Voice, One Humanity 2023
One Voice, One Humanity presents diverse voices of champions and advocates of Human Rights coming together to share their lived experiences through stories of resilience and hope. Collectively, reflecting the principles of Human Rights: together we all share equally in the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being--regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
The aim of this event is to amplify the awareness and understanding of Human Rights, provoke community dialogue and inspire actions from the wider Australian community. The event is a shared platform for the Human Rights community, in a TEDx style curated event of 5-minute narratives, performances, creative expression and videos clips, highlighting the complexity of Human Rights issues; create awareness on the challenges and celebrate the many achievements.
This year, the event will focus on the following themes:
Conflict impact on Human Rights
Climate impact on Human Rights
Indigenous Human Rights
Background:
The United Nations International Human Rights Day (Dec, 2022) celebrates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The UDHR has inspired and progressed many civil rights and advancements in society. Helping to create a more inclusive, diverse, and fairer society for all and enriching our human experience. World Day of Social Justice was passed by the UN general Assembly (Feb, 2009) to recognise the importance of social justice for world peace, security and advancement.
