Friday 24 May from 4pm to 6:30pm Friday 24 May from 7pm to 9:30pm
To kick of Vivid, we're taking over the food Podium at Quay Quarter - right in the heart of Circular Quay - and turning it into a 90s-themed high school canteen, that's studded with the city’s biggest celebrity chefs. Join us at TUCK SHOP, a one-off ticketed nostalgic food party, where you’ll get eight of the fanciest 90s-inspired snacks by our celebrity chef all-stars.
Each snack will be inspired by the food and beverage stallholders at Quay Quarter’s Podium, including Lotus Dumpling Bar, Nam Nam and more.
Pop on your best mood ring, your chunkiest mules, Dad's Ken Done jumper, and some baggy Keppers because TUCK SHOP will have rumpus room breakout spaces complete with arcade games and a giant Jenga. Legendary Sydney Gen X DJ, DJ BC, will be spinning classic 90s hits for the evening.
While we’re keeping our chefs' names under wraps just for the moment, we can reveal that the event will also support the incredible hospitality social enterprise, Plate It Forward, with CEO Shaun David-Christie, winner of The Good Food Guide’s Awards inaugural Innovator of the Year 2024, selling everybody’s tuck shop fave Pizza Pockets which will help support the charity. But wait, there’s more!
No High School canteen is complete without a Bake Sale, so we’ve enlisted not one, but two of the country’s favourite pastry masters to supply sweet treats for the evening! Christopher Thé, the founder of Black Star Pastry and creator of the world’s most Instagrammed cake (*that* Strawberry Watermelon Cake) will be serving up the classic Aussie retro favourite, a Vanilla Slice, complete with cassette tape insignia. Charlotte Ree, the celebrated home cook and author of Heartbake, will also be slinging her own sweet treats too.
