Written by Izzy Azzopardi and directed by Brea Macey, Traffic Light Party is Jezebel Productions’ award-winning, sold-out Sydney Fringe hit, returning by popular demand to open KXT on Broadway’s 2026 summer season.
Set at a “traffic light” themed university party – wear red if you're taken, yellow if it's complicated, and green if you're single – Traffic Light Party is a darkly funny and emotionally charged exploration of modern connection. Through sharp satire delivered by a strong ensemble cast, the play interrogates the way young adults navigate love, sex, friendship, and ambiguity in a world that craves clarity but thrives in the grey (or rather, the yellow).
Winner of Sydney Fringe’s 2025 Best of the Festival award, Izzy Azzopardi’s Traffic Light Party is a play that examines the hierarchy of relationships and the absurdity of labels, challenging the definition of love.
"Bold, uncompromising and unforgettable... It moved us, challenged us, hypnotised us with its craft and reminded us of why art matters” – Patrick Kennedy (CEO Sydney Fringe)
“Tightly choreographed physical theatre that creates a vibrant rhythm of words and sound. It draws you in and shows at once, unity in the challenges we all face, and yet, isolation in experience that most of us feel.” – Lisa Parsons (The Scoop)
“Macey elicits from the cast performances that are both candidly authentic and genuinely moving.” – Paul Gilchrist (Theatre Red)
