We invite you to join us as Dr Michael Fullilove, Director of the Lowy Institute speaks on the ‘State of the Free World’. Come along for a thought-provoking evening.

Dr Michael Fullilove AM

Dr. Michael Fullilove AM is the Executive Director of the Lowy Institute and has been instrumental in its development since 2002. He previously directed the Institute’s Global Issues Program and has worked as a lawyer, an adviser to Prime Minister Paul Keating, and a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution.

A respected commentator on Australian and US foreign policy, Dr. Fullilove writes for publications like The New York TimesThe Washington Post, and Foreign Affairs. He frequently appears on the ABC, BBC, and CNN. He studied arts and law at the Universities of Sydney and New South Wales, earning dual medals, and completed a doctorate at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.

His books include Rendezvous with Destiny, which won the NSW Premier’s Literary Award, and A Larger Australia, based on his 2015 Boyer Lectures. In 2019, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to international relations.

As host of The Director’s Chair podcast, he has interviewed global leaders, including Joe Biden, Angela Merkel, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as nine Australian prime ministers.
