In this compelling public talk, Professor Toby Walsh, award-winning author and chief scientist of the UNSW AI Institute, will explore the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, from early expert systems to today’s generative models.
The presentation will unpack the breakthroughs that have brought us to this moment, the myths that persist and the real-world impact AI is already having across industries and society. With a focus on where Australia stands in the global AI race, the talk will also reflect on the ethical, technological and economic challenges ahead.
