The Mark Ginsburg Band

Saxophonist Mark Ginsburg has initiated a number of exciting and highly creative jazz projects including the Mark Ginsburg Band, ‘Homage’, the Mezza/Ginsburg Ensemble and the popular South African Project. He has toured throughout Australia as well as internationally. His Generations Album was nominated for Best Independent Jazz Album by AIR in 2010 and Convergence was awarded Best Jazz CD 2018 by IAP in the USA. In the wings is a new recording to be released early next year, titled ‘Oceans Together’.

For this special return to Foundry616, Mark will be reunited with former collaborators, pianist Gerard Masters and bassist Karl Dunnicliff, both having performed and recorded with Mark on some of his projects. Mark is also delighted to be playing with dynamic and in-demand drummer Nic Cecire.

Mark’s appearances at Foundry have always proved popular and this all-star quartet promises to be no exception. Expect a diverse mix of Mark’s original compositions as well as a selection of jazz standards.
