Bit stuck when people ask you to bring something along to a picnic or morning tea at work?

Imagine arriving with a plate of warm scones cozily wrapped in a crisp linen tea towel and the aroma of your own raspberry or blueberry jam enticing everyone? And guess what? You can whip them up within an hour. No really, scones and jam made from scratch in an hour

There are a couple of hacks you need to know when baking a batch of scones and this class will show you how.

We will make a scone dough base and experiment with some delicious flavours - it's up to you. Or if you are a traditionalist just make a plain batch.

The great thing about scones is you can raid your food cupboards and create all kinds of spins on a simple recipe.

Dried fruits are a classic but ever tried caraway, walnut and cheddar? With a dash of cranberry?

Once you book I will send you a recipe card and my recommendations for flavour combos. Raid your kitchen cupboards and let's play!

And don't forget we are making jam too. I don't bother with sterilising jars and preserving, I just make as much as I need for the occasion. Easy peasy jam that works every time. No-fuss. No bother!

Your teacher Pamela is known for teaching watercolour, but her other passion is cooking. As a child, she spent a decade doing her homework in a cafe in Darlinghurst and in her twenties worked in Kitchens and cafes as a cook and started up and owned her own cafe called Teascapes back in the day. She is known by her friends as someone who cooks all kinds of stuff and scones are one of her favourite 'go to' dishes. Her kitchen philosophy is to keep it simple and enjoy. I don't use any fancy equipment, my oven is a bit dysfunctional but scones can be made anywhere!
