While the standard of living for most people under 30 is far better today than it was 50 or 100 years ago, young people are entering a world that is divided, unstable and with a radically changing climate.

The Ethics Centre’s Senior Philosopher Dr Tim Dean will be joined by two special guests, including interdisciplinary artist Masego Pitso (Is God Is, Picnic at Hanging Rock featuring on the STC stage in 2025) and young thinker Phaedra Carantinos to explore what it means to be a young person today. Who are young people expected to be? Can they have a positive impact on the world they’re set to inherit, when facing their own growing crises in conflict, climate, mental health, misuse of technology, sexism, racism, and a morally charged society quick to punish those who misspeak?

This special presentation offers fans a chance to experience The Ethics of… in the fresh inspiring surrounds of Sydney Theatre Company, to coincide with their season of Broadway smash hit Dear Evan Hansen.
