This course runs at the same time over 5 weeks with a 6th progress review session several weeks after the final class.
Join experienced photo-editor and ex-Director of Photography at Rolling Stone magazine in New York, Rachel Knepfer, for a hands-on course demonstrating the power of an edit, its history and methods of presentation.
Drawing on iconic and newly published photobooks for inspiration, participants will work towards preparing their work for the public. Whether it be online, as a publication or exhibition, dedicating time to the edit, review and re-edit of your work is crucial to a photographers practice.
Over 5-weeks participants will develop a framework around their projects aimed at producing a dummy-format of their work. Participants will be encouraged to be original, to edit with intention, and to embrace the nature of a work in progress.
This course is for those looking to turn their individual works into a collection, a permanent record, a book, or are simply looking to spend time with their work.
This course includes the cost of 100 test prints (6 x 4in) for participants. Please send .jpg files to email@example.com using Dropbox, WeTransfer or a similar file sharing service 1 week before your class begins to ensure we can have them ready for your first class!
Progress review session dates:14 October for class starting 22 July 2020
