To launch The Chaser’s flagship book of 2026, host Craig Reucassel will be joined by the book’s author, Arion McNicoll (plus special guests), for a conversation about one of The Final Edition's central themes: is the news ever really new? Join us for an evening of satire, surprises and stories that may feel uncannily familiar.

About The Final Edition:

From an original member of The Chaser newspaper (and published by the team behind The Chaser and Shovel Annual) comes The Final Edition – a satirical newspaper-style book that starts from the premise that most of the news stories breaking this week could in fact have been published several decades ago and will still ring true decades from now. From “Cover-up covered up with fresh cover-up” to “Billionaire mounts pointless vanity project in space” and “Local authorities unprepared for seasonal change that occurs every year”, the book is filled with stories that feel ripped from today’s headlines, yesterday’s front page, and next year’s news cycle all at once. Flip to any page of The Final Edition, and you’ll find a story so familiar, you’ll swear it happened this morning… because it probably did.
