Magician James Karp presents the intriguing life and magic of the father of modern day magic, French magician Jean Eugene Robert Houdin.
Through magic and story, this spellbinding show features classic magic effects along with other timeless conjuring and how Houdin transformed magic from a pastime for the lower classes, seen at fairs, to an entertainment for the wealthy, which he offered in a theatre in Paris 1845 – a legacy preserved by the tradition of modern magicians performing in tails.
