Join our special guest on the night iconic Australian comedian, screenwriter, director and disability advocate Tim Ferguson as he ‘gets real’ about what life is like living with a disability. Syndey Disability Staff Recognition Awards, sponsored by Easy Healthcare.
Tim’s unique brand of observational wit will take aim at some of the things people think are taboo, while helping to celebrate the organisations and individuals who have now become part of his life as a person with a disability; things like why having multiple sclerosis’ is better than having just one sclerosis, and why a big stick is a handy tool to have in your toolbox.
Friday 16 June, 2023 this black-tie awards night is held at Doltone House, Darling Island 6:30pm -11pm, and also coincide with the largest disability and NDIS related expo Australia has ever seen.
Tim will be on hand to help present awards in eight major categories including Contemporary Practice, Leadership and the prestigious Support Worker of the Year Award.
With one in five Australians living with disability, over 4.4 Million, the National Disability Leadership Organisation (NDLO) is a not-for profit organisation passionate about connecting people and creating a voice for the disability sector. Each year the Gala Events play a pivotal role in nominating the amazing work done within the sector and some of the key individuals that often go unrecognised. The Gala dinner is held on the first night of the largest Disability and NDIS related events in Australia delivered by Developing Australian Communities, who have been engaged to host and produce the Galas also. The Gala dinners serve as an opportunity to raise funds for important organisations that all Australians can get behind.
This year and beyond we are honored and privileged to be using the Gala dinner events as a major fundraiser proudly supporting Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team’s journey to Paris 2024.
