Sydney Underground Film Festival (SUFF) kicks off their 17th year with an epic opening night at the Dendy Newtown.

Opening night film, Ukraine Guernica – Art Not War is the latest from daring filmmaker George Gittoes. This subversive anti-war film in the tradition of Pablo Picasso's Guernica follows the frontline artists daring to stand up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Afghanistan.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director George Gittoes and producer/musician Hellen Rose. Then join SUFF at Waywards for the SUFF Afterparty with cinematic tunes all night and a special Soul Crime live performance by Hellen Rose and Jeffery Wegener.
