To mark this special occasion, a commemorative event will take place on Saturday, October 25, at Japan Expo in Sydney Town Hall!

• Mayor Hirosawa of Nagoya and Lord Mayor Clover Moore of Sydney will appear on stage!

• Free tastings of Nagoya’s most beloved dishes! (Miso katsu will be handed out by Mayor Hirosawa at 11am / tenmusu / uirō & more!)

• Nagoya’s adorable mascot Hachimaru is coming! Take a photo together.

• Join the Origami Chatter Box with fun Nagoya-themed questions and prizes!

Schedule:

• 10:20am – Nagoya Mayor Hirosawa and Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore will participate in the Kagami-biraki Ceremony (traditional sake barrel opening) and give commemorative speeches.

• 11am – Mayor Hirosawa of Nagoya will hand out tenmusu (rice balls with tempura)

• 1pm – Free tasting of miso katsu, one of Nagoya’s signature dishes

• 3pm – Enjoy uirō, a traditional sweet from Nagoya

• Take photographs together with Nagoya’s adorable mascot Hachimaru all day
