The Sydney Jewish Writers Festival, powered by Shalom, returns hosting 22 live in-person events and more than 25 Australian-based presenters along with prominent international writers who will gather to discuss, dissect and explore this year’s festival theme: "Identity".

Headlining the event will be the inimitable David Baddiel, British comedian, author, screenwriter and television presenter, along with a stellar line-up including Heather Mitchell, Alex Ryvchin, Dr Norman Swan and FourPlay String Quartet.

Sessions cover a diverse range of topics from climate change to existentialism, Holocaust, antisemitism, aging, grief and laughter. Through conversations, poetry, music, comedy, a little yoga and a string quartet for good measure – it is a festival not to be missed.

With books as our compass and the beautifully refurbished Bondi Pavilion as our setting, we present you with an exceptional gathering of storytellers, thinkers and experts from Australia and abroad to speak to this theme.

"This festival, we invite you to bring your curiosity, your ideas and your voice to this conversation.” – Miriam Hechtman, Festival Director

Booking essential – get in early as some of the major events sell out quickly.
