Constantly evolving, Blonde Redhead's artfully noisy rock and mysterious, bittersweet dream-pop are united by a darkly romantic outlook that verges on cinematic.

The beloved NYC avant-rock trio of Kazu Makino and Italian twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace – return for their first Australian tour in 13 years and celebrate the release of their first studio album in nearly a decade, Sit Down for Dinner. So naturally, we’re taking the seats out for this show!

Partially written during the profound uncertainty of the pandemic and after inspiration from a passage in Joan Didion’s memoir The Year Of Magical Thinking, Sit Down for Dinner is meticulously-crafted, immersed with lyrical resolve, and sonically breezy. A band that has traced an arc from noisy indie-rock to cosmopolitan art pop, this album is a testament to the unique internal logic Blonde Redhead have refined over their three-decade existence. They are continuously growing, never confined to any era but the present.

The spirit of connection is immediate in Blonde Redhead’s innate harmonic sensibilities. “We have a language we have kept,” Makino says. “We try to change rhythms, concepts, and sounds. But that harmonic sensibility has stayed the same. It hits the same part of your heart.”

“A record of deftly anxious songs about loss … Blonde Redhead’s finest work” - The Guardian

“On their first album in nearly a decade, and following a wave of viral resurgence, the NYC avant-rock vets return with their warmest, most welcoming music yet.” - Pitchfork, 7.5

“Devastatingly gorgeous” - The Line of Best Fit, 8/10

“Blonde Redhead’s first album in nearly a decade is one of their best” - Brooklyn Vegan, Album of the Week
