Susan Warhaftig was just two years old when war broke out in Austria. She survived the Holocaust hiding in a remote village in Hungary under false papers.
To get there, she had to be smuggled out of Austria, which is when her mother was forced to make an impossible choice: deciding which of her two children she would take.
Join us in the Museum for this unmissable conversation between Susan and Museum Educator, Jeffrey Fletcher. You’ll learn about Susan’s experiences in the war, life afterwards, and what it felt like to build a new life in Australia.
