Saturday 17 August 2024 from 6pm to 8pm
Hailing from Zakopane and having played at some of Europe’s best jazz clubs, concert halls, and festivals, Jakub Hubicki takes to the stage at the Polish Club Ashfield to present the “Spirit of Polish Music’ – an ethnic folk and jazz journey through old-time Poland.
Hubicki’s accordion music extracts with mantric depth, improvisation, and free interpretation the sounds of old time Poland as was done in villages from a time-gone-by.
Not only will Jakub present a suite of energetic folk songs, he will share his knowledge of the history of the accordion, as well as interesting elements and facts about regional songs.
