Sounds of Afrobeats: After Dark brings the electrifying energy of Afroclub to the Metro stage for Vivid Sydney, featuring three heavy-hitters from the global scene.

Bringing the impeccable vibes is DJ Ayane, an international DJ and producer with over 15 years of experience. Originally from East Africa and raised in France, Ayane infuses her sets with diverse, cosmopolitan influences. Known for her boundless energy, genre-spanning mixes, and razor-sharp technique, she’s lit up dancefloors from Paris to Bali and has become a viral force thanks to her innovative video concepts and devoted fanbase. 

Joining her is DJ Obi, the Nigerian turntable titan. A record-breaker in every sense, Obi holds the world record for the longest DJ set (240 hours), is signed to Roc Nation, and has been crowned the World’s Best DJ at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Known for high-energy sets that seamlessly blend Afrobeats, hip-hop, and house, Obi’s Metro set will be nothing short of legendary. 

South African sensation Tshegu rounds out the international lineup, bringing her signature Amapiano sound to the Metro stage. A rising force in the global music scene, Tshegu’s productions fuse Amapiano, house and old-school influences, creating an infectious rhythm that transcends borders.

Local selectors OVO, Kudzi, Electromaks, Wahala and Kimani bring the vibes with Wyes on percussion and Brey Sax on live saxophone, along with hosts Rickkxten and Uncle Ric.
