Friday 25 October from 5pm to Saturday 26 October 8am
Stepping Stone House’s 10th annual "Sleep Under the Stars" event is set to take place on the stunning Stargazer Lawn in Barangaroo.
This milestone fundraising event is a unique opportunity for the community to come together and sleep under the night sky in solidarity for children and young people who face the harsh realities of homelessness. Since its inception, "Sleep Under the Stars" has become a signature event for Stepping Stone House, a for-purpose organisation dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk and homeless children and young people.
Participants at this year’s free event will enjoy a night of complimentary entertainment, hear inspiring stories from former residents, build their own shelters and connect with other supporters passionate about making a difference. Those taking part are required to raise funds, which will go directly towards Stepping Stone House's programs that fund long-term accommodation, education, and essential life skills training for residents.
Stepping Stone House has supported over 500 children and young people since its establishment in 1989 with long-term accommodation and person-centred programs. Its mission is to break the often intergenerational cycle of homelessness for these individuals by empowering them through education and employment pathways, and equipping them with the skills they need to live independently.
