Simone Waddell's recent original music has been hailed as, “the best music coming out of Australia right now.” Her recent fifth studio album, “The Art of Collaboration” was the number #1 Highest Selling Australian Jazz Album of 2022 and was accepted into four separate categories in the 2023 Grammys.
Simone’s voice has been described as “world-class”, “drenched with soul and feeling” and “utterly amazing.”
Simone was mentored by the late iconic jazz singer, Kerrie Biddell, and completed her Research Masters Degree in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on scholarship.
Mary Kiani, a talented Scottish vocalist, has made an indelible mark in the music scene. Initially, she gained prominence as the lead singer for the dance music group The Time Frequency (TTF) during the early 1990s.
Her captivating voice contributed to the success of TTF’s hit songs. Prior to her time with TTF, Mary had a noteworthy career as a session and backing vocalist. She had the privilege of touring alongside renowned artists like Donny Osmond, John Reid, The Nightcrawlers (known for “Push the Feeling On”), Paul Young, Hue & Cry, and China Crisis, and even lent her vocals to The Simpsons’ Yellow Album. Notably, she even had the honor of supporting the legendary ‘PRINCE’ during his UK tour.
A highlight of this show is Jack Jones featured on saxophone. One of the brightest young talents in the country today.
Simone and Mary have both performed internationally across their incredibly exciting and expansive careers and cannot wait to share their songs and stories with you. They were accompanied by seasoned professionals Mitch Farmer on drums, Mark Costa on bass, and Sam McNally on keys/piano – top-notch musicians and artists in their own right.
