Featuring Simon Barker (drums) and Carl Dewhurst (guitar) Showa 44 utilise tuned metallic resonances, rhythmic densities and spontaneous invention via electric guitar and percussion to manifest compelling and evocative soundscapes.
Since forming in 2001, Showa 44 have released five albums: Showa 44, Ormus, Orneon, Kaihogyo and Event II to critical acclaim. They have performed at major festivals in Australia and abroad and have had their music appear in two feature length films.
