Saturdays, 10am to 1pm Saturday 15 April to Saturday 1 June 2024
Get off the beaten track and see a different side of Sydney!
Join a fun and relaxed walk through the historical suburbs of Pyrmont, Ultimo and Glebe. Often overlooked by visitors and locals alike, these old neighbourhoods have amazing stories and so many hidden gems.
On this walk, you’ll discover the early industrial history of the area, how it became a ghost-town and then has re-invented itself in the last few decades. You’ll learn about Australian culture, our unique sense of humour and what a “VIP Lounge” really is. Best of all, you’ll get to taste a few iconic Australian snacks, including Vegemite toast, Tim Tams and a flat white coffee.
The tour includes a mid-way stop at a favourite local cafe, and we finish with a glass of delicious local craft beer at one of the most unique pubs in Sydney – complete with a talking pet cockatoo!
If you’re visiting Sydney, we recommend doing this early in your stay as you’ll get lots of tips to make your time in this city amazing. If you’re a local, we guarantee you’ll discover things you’ve never noticed or appreciated before.
Note we walk about 3.2 km at a relaxed pace and a mostly flat route. We've had everyone from 3-year-olds to 80-year-olds complete the walk and it is pram/baby carriage friendly but please message us if you have any questions.
