Experience Henry Purcell’s masterpiece, a timeless tale laden with a tumultuous interplay of duty, passion, and fate.

Musically resplendent and thrillingly fierce, Pinchgut puts its signature stamp on this beloved opera. With an exceptional lineup of artists, it also includes a new prologue written by award-winning playwright and actor Kate Mulvany. This production is simply unmissable!

Showcasing some of the most beautiful music of all time, with haunting melodies and powerful choruses, including the final lament of Dido, darkly brooding and famously tragic, which was aptly featured in the smash-hit series The White Lotus.

This tragic and moving story of Queen Dido of Carthage and the Trojan hero Aeneas, whose love is torn apart by dark sorcery and divine intervention, will sweep you into a world of emotional intensity.

Featuring star soprano Valda Wilson as the noble Dido, Baritone David Greco as the heroic Aeneas, Kanen Breen as the scheming sorceress, and the ever-eloquent Sara Macliver as Belinda.

Conducted by Erin Helyard with Orchestra of the Antipodes and Cantillation
