From sh*t to shot on iPhone!

Learn the fundamental skills that you need to upgrade your videos. Explore lighting and sound, step into the world of cinematography, and find out how to better plan your content to create amazing results.

Taking place at Scroll Stop, an all-in-one studio for your creative needs. You’ll have the opportunity to explore a range of equipment to level up your skills, and shoot in a variety of unique environments.

This workshop will be split into 2 x 1-hour sessions that can be purchased individually, and will cover:

Session 1: 11am-12pm ($10)

Framing:

  • Learn how to set up your shots to best convey a story

  • Explore the conventions in video & film, and when you can break them

  • Shoot a short scene using these skills.

Sound:

  • Test out ways to improve the sound quality of your content

  • Practice shooting in different auditory environments 

  • Learn the best ways to improve your sound on a budget

Lighting:

  • Find out simple ways to improve the look of your shots with key lighting techniques

  • Work with practical lights and DIY tools to develop your aesthetic

  • Re-shoot your scene to further its look.

Session 2: 12pm-1pm ($10)

Moving the Camera:

  • Learn about different techniques to move your camera effectively.

  • See professional gear in action, and learn about DIY solutions.

  • Take on a shooting challenge to work on your camera work.

Putting it into Practice:

  • Shoot a short skit to put all of your newfound skills to the test.

  • Receive immediate feedback and guidance on next steps to improve.
