Koreans usually eat rice as their everyday meal with various side dishes. Not only cooked rice – we also eat rice as a porridge, noodles and rice cakes. Rice cakes were especially on a family’s feast table for events like celebrating birthdays.
Join this special workshop to paint your own Korean rice cake. You don’t need any previous experience and the instructor will guide you to paint on the rice cake using bean paste!

Paint Your Own Korean Rice Cake: On top of the cake base using Baekseolgi rice cake, we will express our appreciation of JiHyeon Lee using various colour of the bean paste. The instructor will briefly introduce Korean rice cakes, explain how to make colours with bean paste, organize the design, practice painting together, and also explain how to store rice cakes.
Ingredients:
Rice cake: rice flour, sugar and pumpkin
Bean paste: white kidney bean paste and food colouring
(All of the ingredients will be provided on the spot for free. Please note that we won’t be able to tailor the ingredients to individual’s request as they're prepared for the group.)
Applications/additional information:
Due to the nature of the group workshop, you must be 11 years of age or older to participate.
