Every day, all day Friday 13 February to Sunday 1 March
Darlinghurst is set to come alive once again as Oxtravaganza returns for its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of creativity, connection and Mardi Gras magic across Oxford Street, Rainbow Precinct and surrounding neighbourhoods.
13th February - 1st March 2026
Running throughout the Mardi Gras period, Oxtravaganza is a proudly community-driven festival created by the Darlinghurst Business Partnership, spanning Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Kings Cross, the Hollywood Quarter and Darlo Village, shining a spotlight on the precincts that have long been at the heart of Sydney’s queer history.
A key highlight of the 2026 program is the Family Zone Day at Qtopia Sydney, who are generously dedicating space to host inclusive, all-ages programming, including Drag Story Time. The Family Zone reflects the evolving face of Mardi Gras and the importance of creating welcoming spaces for families, young people and allies.
Across the precinct, local businesses, venues, galleries and cultural institutions will once again rally behind Oxtravaganza, activating their spaces with exhibitions, performances, retail offers and special events that capture the spirit of Mardi Gras, from daytime discovery to late-night celebration. The National Art School, Australian Museum, Qtopia Sydney, plus a host of smaller galleries in the immediate neighbourhood also host exhibitions.
And of course, the finale of Parade Night, a glittering glamorous celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community and the rowdiest party Oxford St gets to host!
As Sydney welcomes visitors from around the world for Mardi Gras, Oxtravaganza invites everyone to explore the wider precinct, to eat, drink, shop, connect and celebrate in the places that have shaped queer culture for generations.
Ten years on, Oxtravaganza remains a powerful statement of pride, place and community, with a clear message that Oxford Street is open, resilient and ready to party!
