This technique is also a wonderful way to upcycle old scarves or clothing made from open-weave natural fibers – so feel free to bring along anything you’d like to incorporate into your piece. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to explore! While the process involves some mild repetitive motion, the results are truly magical.

An old towel
Scissors
A waterproof or plastic bag to take your wet towel and felt home
Apron (if you’re worried about water splashes)
Old scarves or clothing made from muslin or silk to incorporate into your design
