Cutting-edge British-Pakistani selections, unearthed Arabic nuggets and spacey Detroit-inspired house meet at the Sydney Masonic Centre in this celebration of electronica, polyrhythmic tropical soul-funk and more.

Featuring in-demand cold wave electronica act Nabihah Iqbal (UK), who returns to Australia off the back of her sophomore album DREAMER for a DJ set; revered Atlanta producer and keys player Byron The Aquarius (USA), bringing his trademark mix of jazz-indebted melodies and house as heard across the world’s best clubs, and Berlin mainstay Habibi Funk (GER), who makes his Australian debut with a DJ set that jumps between rare 45” records from the Arab and North African diaspora, like heavy flavours of hip-hop, disco, funk and more, released on his beloved namesake label Habibi Funk Records.

On the local line up is one of Sydney’s most respected and revered, DJ Gemma of Plutobeat, Club Kooky and Club Arak (2002-2012), known for her vast Arabic selections and other non-Western mainstream dance music.

Plus, don’t miss Homelands’ free performances and exhibition beforehand from 6-8pm in SMC’s Marble Foyer. Presented by Settlement Services International (SSI), the producers who give you the annual New Beginnings Festival.

Presented by Electronic Music Life and hosted by DJ & Producer James Locksmith.

This event is supported by Vivid Sydney and City of Sydney.
