Moving_Sensing_Gathering is an exhibition with works ranging from drawing and painting to mixed media compositions and photographs of arranged found elements from the environment. Interpreting a sense of place through movement, sounds, physical elements and visual responses has given rise to this show.
The Art Gallery of NSW was the place where the artists Lina Tesoriero, Amy Scully and Mollie Rice met when each of them worked there as educators. Their individual art practices developed separately in distinctive locations and timeframes and as they found similarities in their creative intentions, they have brought a body of work together for this exhibition.
The artists would like to invite the audience to gather in a relaxed atmosphere to experience the different interpretations and responses to places. As audience members engage with artworks from the exhibition, it is hoped that they will become immersed in the atmosphere and sensations of the artists’ special places.
