Saturday 14 June from 1pm to 3:30pm
Join us for a creative and practical workshop that combines mending, repairing, and sustainable fashion techniques! Whether you're new to sewing or want to breathe new life into your wardrobe, this class will teach you valuable skills to extend the life of your clothes and reduce waste.
Mending Techniques: Learn how to sew on buttons, repair holes in fabric (including knitwear, socks, and woven fabrics), hand stitch hems, and explore visible mending with some embroidery stitches.
Sustainable Fashion Tips: Discover how to incorporate sustainable practices into your sewing, such as upcycling old garments, choosing eco-friendly fabrics, and creating designs that minimize waste.
Repairing and Upcycling: Bring in garments or accessories that need a little love and receive advice on how to repair, patch, or refresh them. You'll gain hands-on experience in transforming worn pieces into something new.
Throughout the workshop, you'll get to practice the mending techniques and work on your own project, or simply get inspired by ideas for sustainable fashion. Each participant will receive a small sewing kit to take home, so you can continue mending and upcycling your wardrobe long after the class is over.
