Mardi Gras: Embroider your pride workshop

In celebration of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras we invite you to embroider your pride at Waverley Library!

In the workshop you will be taught the basics of embroidery, learning the basic back stitch technique. Create your own design or pick from set templates, you will embroider a design that is uniquely you.

All equipment and training will be provided inc:

  • base felt material

  • needle + embroidery floss

  • transfer paper

  • queer friendly stencils [ welcome to design your own]

  • an experienced crafty librarian to guide you in the process

Beginners are welcome to attend, no experience necessary. If you do not finish your piece on the night - you will learn the skills to finish the piece at home.

Suitable for ages 15 yrs +

Waverley Library is a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
