Lion Dances at 9pm, 1030pm, and Midnight Fireworks at 9pm & Midnight (Weather permitting)

As the moon rises on the eve of the lunar new year, the Sze Yup Temple in Glebe will be transformed into a vibrant and lively scene.

There will be a lively lion dance performance, and the night will conclude with a dazzling display of fireworks that will light up the sky and leave you in awe.

You'll also be able to witness the traditional temple rituals and ceremonies, and all visitors will be given the famous annual lucky "red packet", blessed by the temple gods to bring in the best wishes for the new year. The beautiful sweep of red chinese lanterns will fill the grounds, and the sound of gongs and drums will provide a festive soundtrack to the celebrations.

Sze Yup Temple is a heritage listed site and Australia's oldest Chinese temple that has been welcoming the community since 1898. Don't miss this unforgettable experience and join us at the Sze Yup Temple for the Lunar New Year celebrations!
