The City of Sydney’s lion dancing troupes will ring in the Lunar New Year with plenty of drumming, flamboyance and skill.

Lion dancing performances will be held every day of the Festival throughout various locations:

Monday to Thursday during the festival

  • 12pm and 12.30pm at Sydney Town Hall steps (George Street)

Friday 27 January

  • 7.30pm at Thomas Street near Thomas Lane, Haymarket

  • 8pm at Hay Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

Saturday 28 January

  • 7.30pm at Factory Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

  • 8pm at 1 Dixon Street, Haymarket

Sunday 29 January

  • 7.30pm at Factory Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

  • 8pm at Sussex Street outside Sussex Centre, 401/403 Sussex St, Haymarket

Friday 3 February

  • 7.30pm at Hay Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

  • 8pm at Thomas Street near Thomas Lane, Haymarket

Saturday 4 February

  • 7.30pm at Sussex Street outside Sussex Centre, 401/403 Sussex St, Haymarket

  • 8pm at Factory Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

Sunday 5 February

  • 7.30pm at Factory Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

  • 8pm at Hay Street near Dixon Street Mall, Haymarket

Each performance runs for 10 minutes.

Performances may cancelled due to weather. Updates will be posted on this page where possible.
