Cost

Adult: $169.00 (includes four 2-hour lessons, 3 practice sessions, a copy of Paul Marston's book, and one-year membership at Grand Slam)

Bridge is one of the most popular card games of all time. In this beginner course we teach people how to play a good basic game of bridge. We start right from the beginning, so it doesn’t matter if you know nothing about cards.

You learn bridge more by play than theory so we also include three practice sessions during the course, on a different day from the lessons. These sessions are a useful part of the learning process; no one becomes good at bridge without practice.

By the end of the course you will know all the important basics of bridge. Then you will be ready to take your place in a friendly novice game where you can have some fun and enjoy using your new skills as you consolidate your game.

Why play bridge?

First, because it is fun. You are always engaged with other people when you play bridge so it is a great way to meet new people. Another important benefit of playing bridge is that you will be taking positive steps towards keeping your mind in mint condition. Studies have shown that playing bridge is one of the best ways to ward off Alzheimer’s and dementia, which have recently risen to be the third greatest cause of death in Australia.
