Coinciding with the COME FIND ME exhibition, join exhibiting artist Taerim Claire Jeon for a craft workshop making a ‘Cloth Pouch for Teapot’ at the Korean Cultural Centre Australia.

This 90-minute workshop will offer hands-on experience with the essential sewing techniques of Korean traditional patchwork. All materials are provided.

This workshop caters for all skill levels.

– Self-guided tour for the exhibition on view

– Making a ’Cloth Pouch for Teapot’ (wrapping cloth traditionally used to carry or cover the teapot) with key techniques (Sangchim, two-stitch topstitching and Dorae Maedeup, double connection knot)

INSTRUCTOR

Taerim Claire Jeon is a Sydney based Jogakbo artist who strongly identifies with her Korean heritage. She has spent more than 10 years re-interpreting traditional methods and exploring new forms of Jogakbo practices. Her artworks has been exhibited in several organisations including the Australian Design Centre, Craft NSW and the Murray Art Museum Albury. Her Jogakbo piece, _Intergradation, _is being displayed at the KCC gallery.
