Thursdays, 6pm to 8pm Thursday 16 October to Thursday 18 December

After building a solid foundation of the Japanese language, it is time now to practice those skills and add some new ones.

Through new situational topics, you will widen your vocabulary and have the opportunity to practice your pronunciation and conversation skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.

Please note this course will be held online via Zoom.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this Japanese beginners course, you should have enhanced your career prospects by:

  • Talk about yourself, others, and situations in more detail

  • Ask for and receive more detailed directions to a place

  • Communicate using negatives and more complex questions

  • Talk about things you plan to do in the future and invite someone to do something

  • Use conversational skills to give and receive presents, solve problems

  • Exchange points of view according to Japanese etiquette

  • Distinguish between Hiragana and Katakana alphabets and begin to learn the Katakana characters and sounds
