Saturday 19 September 2020 from 8:30pm to 10:30pm
Jackson Harrison’s new trio – featuring the brilliant Sydney musicians James Waples and Jacques Emery – returns to Foundry616 for their first show since March.
Described by John Shand in the Sydney Morning Herald as having “a gorgeous touch at the piano and an ability to combine intense lyricism with knotty interaction”, Jackson has released two critically acclaimed trio albums on the prestigious Swiss record label HatHut Records and has toured widely throughout Australia, Europe, and China. Jackson’s most recent trio album Sintering was recorded in Sydney with James Waples and Ben Waples. His debut trio album Land Tides was recorded in New York with Thomas Morgan and Dan Weiss. Jackson is also a National Jazz Award winner and Freedman Jazz Fellowship finalist. Join the Jackson Harrison Trio for an evening of original music and standards.
“The Jackson Harrison Trio paints pictures of astonishing abstract art…splashing fiery colours onto backgrounds that are often stark but always stunning”
