Jackie McLean was one of the great modern Jazz musicians. With a career spanning the “bebop” era of Charlie Parker and the “Hard Bop” of Art Blakey, to his own brand of dynamic “Post Bop” music, Jackie McLean was one of the strongest and most unique voices in Jazz from the 1940s until his passing in 2006.
Drummer/bandleader Andrew Dickeson has assembled a stellar band to perform the music of “Jackie Mac”.
Michael Griffin: alto sax
Hugh Barrett: piano
Brendan Clarke: bass
The band will be performing a broad selection of McLean’s music spanning his entire career. Listeners can expect plenty of hard-swinging jazz and blues as well as some of his more adventurous modern compositions.
This is definitely a night of music not to be missed!
