ITS Comedy Festival 2023

The ITS Comedy Festival is a bonanza of international and local talent hosted in Redfern from 16 to 19 November 2023.

This year the festival includes 30 shows over four nights with performers from the United States, New Zealand and right across Australia. From early in the evening to late at night, audiences will have their pick of award-winning improvisation, stand-up and sketch comedy.

The lineup is teeming with familiar faces from Channel 10’s Thank God You’re Here – Dane Simpson, Carlo Ritchie and Tiana Hogben – as well as hyper-viral internet sensations like Tom Cardy. Alongside the local talent, international performers include Patrick Rowland (Comedy Central) and New Zealand Improv Festival Artistic Director Matt Powell.  

The festival is held in the heart of Redfern at the multi-stage Improv Theatre Sydney. This scrappy indie theatre has been Australia’s secret comedy training ground for nearly a decade, producing media darlings Sam Mac (Sunrise), Michael Hing (The Project), Alex Lee (Spicks and Specks), Concetta Caristo (Taskmaster) and Bryce Mills (Triple j).

With a no holds barred attitude and a mix of hand-picked veterans and emerging performers, the ITS Comedy Festival is an affordable night out in Sydney and an unmissable peek into the future of live comedy.
