Come and have some playful, silly fun at Improv Theatre Sydney's Intro to Improv workshops these school holidays! Whether you have heaps of experience with improv, or it’s your very first time, if you’re aged 12 - 17, this workshop is for you.
Learn the skills of spontaneous creativity and collaboration, and the concept of “yes, and…” in a relaxed and supportive environment. Discover how to create fun and engaging characters, and make up stories on the spot! Get confident with skills explored in the classroom as part of the NSW Drama syllabus. Connect with like-minded students and have a tonne of fun in this perfect creative outlet in the school break. The workshop will conclude with a short performance for family and friends on the final day!
Students will:
Learn to trust and hone your story-telling intuition
Get comfortable with working as an ensemble
Think spontaneously and react in the moment
Learn to use the concept of ‘yes-and’
Learn about listening and active reacting
Explore physicality and mime
Create fun and engaging characters and stories
Put these skills into practice in a short improvised showcase for family and friends
Have fun and meet a bunch of new friends
