Illustrate with Fabric Workshop

Learn how to illustrate a fabric book with two simple stitches in this fun Sydney workshop!

In this 4-hour workshop, you will Illustrate the story of your choice using appliqué, glue and stitches. At the end of the class, you will leave with the start of a beautiful fabric fairytale book to continue working on at home and you will have gained a new appreciation for upcycling.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced alike. For those with little or no experience, you will be using two simple stitches – straight stitch and the beautiful French knot.

These artist books can be used in classrooms, or for parents with children as a springboard for storytelling. They make a wonderful gift. This is a mindful, meditative activity that creates a work of art that is lasting and worthwhile.

Materials are provided, however if you have small scissors and a sketchbook, please bring them along. Paper and pencils provided. (Feel free to bring your own favourite materials.)

This workshop will be lead by Frances Ingram, a visual artist/illustrator living in the Inner West.
