For the Love of Paper is a 90 minute original live theatre production written by emerging artist Almitra Mavalvala and directed by Kersherka Sivakumaran

The story: Amaliah, a South Asian woman, and Kaveh, a queer Afghani man, face immigration complexities that threaten their friendship. Amaliah is at risk of deportation and her best friend Kaveh is determined to find a solution, leading them through the bureaucratic maze of immigration laws and cultural clashes. Kaveh engineers an audacious plan, bending the rules and testing their friendship. Love intertwines with legal challenges, posing the ultimate question: Can they secure a happy future, or will their quest lead to incarceration?

Written by Almitra Mavalvala, For the Love of Paper is inspired by real events, celebrating the enduring power of friendship, love, and human resilience. With heart, humor, and a hint of rebellion, this play illustrates the extraordinary lengths we go to for those we cherish.
