Flickerfest 2021

Flickerfest is Australia’s largest short film competition dedicated to showcasing the very best short films from Australia and around the world from live action to documentaries and animation.

This year it will screen 64 Australian films across the Best of Australian Competition, 37 International films across the Best of International Competition and 15 Documentaries across The Best of Documentary Competition.

This year in January, the Flickerfest festival kicks off at Bondi showcasing some of the most innovative, provocative and wildly entertaining short films the world has to offer on the big screen. In celebration of the 30th Anniversary, Flickerfest will be held in a Covid safe bespoke festival garden supported by Waverley council which will include The Famous Spiegeltent for indoor screenings, an outdoor cinema under the stars and a bespoke garden bar area on the lawn at Bondi Beach.

Flickerfest launches on the 22nd January with a highlights screening followed by an exclusive after party, the festival will see over 200 spectacular short films screened in the Famous Spiegeltent and under the stars through to the 31st January culminating in a prestigious awards presentation and closing night celebration.
