Flamenco for everybody

Flamenco for Everybody is presented by Annalouise Paul Dance Theatre in partnership with Sydney Solstice Festival 2021. Proudly funded by Create NSW.

Community interest and the spirituality that comes with dancing is what inspired Annalouise Paul to create Flamenco For Everybody.

Poetry, percussion, hang, contemporary dance and jazz flamenco guitar meet in this visually theatrical and highly virtuosic show. We invite audiences to learn about the social, historical and cultural events that seamlessly shift Flamenco with the times. A living tradition of Romani, Spanish, Arabic and African influences and a place where interfaith and art meet.

The Flamenco artists are some of the very best in the country, including veteran flamenco guitarist Robbie Varga, Rafael Leon (Cordoba) with authentic cante, poetry and lyrics, Byron Mark on contemporary percussion and Annalouise Paul, award-wining contemporary-flamenco dance artist.
