The global humanitarian crisis is staggering, with at least 103 million people forcibly displaced due to war, persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations (UNHCR 2022).

Finding Freedom is the theme for this year’s Refugee Week (18-24 June). Freedom to live without the fear of war, to have your fundamental human rights upheld, to live in equality and without the fear of persecution.

Universities can be agents for change in the humanitarian crisis – from providing equitable access to higher education to refugee students to protecting academic freedoms and at-risk scholars.

Join this University of Technology hosted panel session to hear from Olga Oleinikova, Sally Baker, Debeje Molla, Asher Hirst and Amir Ali Jalai Farahani on how universities can advocate for refugee freedoms.
